community. Below is part of an email he sent describing the list. I
think this list will be a great asset to anyone in our area that enjoys bluegrass

I've been thinking that the local bluegrass community needs an efficient means of distributing information. There have been several concerts and other happenings in the in the past that few people knew about. The Ricky Skaggs concert at a coast casino is just one example. Therefore, I've created the Deep South Bluegrass Network (DeepGrass), an internet mailing list for the discussion of Bluegrass music in MS, LA, & AL and the FLA panhandle. This list can be used for questions or announcements regarding festivals and shows in our area, lineup additions and cancellations, news about bluegrass friends (health problems, etc.), organizing jams, or just jawing about bluegrass. I expect it to be a low-volume list, so you shouldn't be burdened with more e-mail than you can keep up with. For those unfamiliar with mailing lists, it works like this: You send a regular e-mail message to the list server's address. Your message is automatically replicated and sent out to everyone who is subscribed to the list. In turn, you receive the messages that other subscibers send to the list.
