Familiar Stranger
A familiar face comes on the screen
I freeze and relearn how to breathe
A familiar voice drifts inside
It seems to move me every time
I feel him close, but it's not real
I wish I knew how not to feel
I don't even know him, so why do I care?
Getting lost in a hope that will just leave me bare
I take the brunt from this cold little hope
It's such a persistant and maddening poke
This is a dream I should never have found
An obssession that's riding me into the ground
A familiar face stares back at me
A face I wish I'd never seen
I know his words, I know his voice
I'm drawn to him without a choice
He gave so much and started desire
He lit the spark that started the fire
I don't even know him, so why do I care?
Getting lost in a hope that will just leave me bare
I take the brunt from this cold little hope
It's such a persistant and maddening poke
This is a dream I should never have found
An obssession that's riding me into the ground
I wish I could know him like I feel I do
I wish I had known him before all this grew
But would he truly be all that I dream?
Or rip my heart right out of me?
The familair stranger with the peircing eyes
The beautiful man I can't seem to despise
I don't even know him, so why do I care?
Getting lost in a hope that will just leave me bare
I take the brunt from this cold little hope
It's such a persistant and maddening poke
This is a dream I should never have found
An obssession that's riding me into the ground
