DEEPANYAS NRITYA NIKETAN is one of the premier institutes in Thane providing education in great Indian classical dance form of BHARATA NATYAM.
The Institute was founded in 1992 by Mrs A K Shembekar and since then is instrumental in providing high quality education to aspiring students.
The standard curriculam of the institute covers various related excercises, Adavu-s and advance items like Alaripu, Jatiswaram, Varnam etc. which are the traditional items forming part of this dance form.
Students are offered Diploma after completing training. Simultaneously, students can appear for the examinations offered by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya for obtaining Degree. Deepanyas Nritya Niketan gets the students prepared for these examinations.
About the Director .....
Mrs. A K Shembekar who founded this institute, completed her Masters in Fine Arts from Mumbai university. She was a student of Nalanda Nritya Kala mahavidyala run by Padmashree Dr. Smt Kanak Rele.
She has perfomed in various ballets all over the India thru' Nalanda. She is a National Scholarship holder from Govt of India and Nageshwara Rao Scholarship offered by Mumbai University.
