to death by parents in UP

In a shocking incident in Alipur village of UP, a couple were hanged to death by their parents in front of hundreds of people. According to the Muzzaffarnagar district police chief, 20-year-old man Vishal and an 18-year-old woman Sonu were hanged to death because they belonged to different castes and were in love with each other. The families of both the boy and girl brought them to the roof of a house and hanged them one after the other. The parents of the girl and the brother of the boy have now been arrested. Reacting to the incident, Uttar Pradesh Home Minister Ram Nath Mishra has said that there is no tension in the area because of the incident. “There is no tension in the village because both families had given their consent for this. There is peace in the village. Had it been one family that had killed both people there could have been tension,” said Mishra. |
