BCCI punishes Azhar with life ban, Jadeja suspended for five years
Tuesday,
December 5 (Chennai):
The verdict is finally out in the match-fixing case. Just a short while ago, the
Indian Cricket Control Board handed out penalties and former captain Azharuddin
has been given the most severe punishment.
Azhar and former test cricketer Ajay Sharma have been banned from the game for
life. Ajay Jadeja has been suspended for five years along with Manoj Prabhakar,
who had done a video expose on the match-fixing issue. Also out for five years
is the team's former physiotherapist Dr. Ali Irani. But wicketkeeper Nayan
Mongia has been exonerated.
