My background is mostly rooted in youth development. I was a youth mentor for over 15 years. Coming from a poverty sticken community I understand first hand the difficulties our children in low-income neoghborhoods are faced with day in and day out. Growing up in a house hold where I was alone most of the time, I also understand the curiuosity a child may have in wanting to fit in or have a community where they feel accepted. Due to my personal expeirences I have created several activiteis for youth to get involved in after school through New Life Covenant. I truly believe that we can combat the violence in Chicago through mentorship.

After completeing my education in political science and history, I will be getting involeved in politics focusing on making policies that help lower income families and focus on child welfare.

My goals encompass many things. I am trying to become a person who is disciplined. I am working on changing my eating habits, workouts and daily routines. I want to become healthy not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. I do want to become a person who can establish programs to help communities and leave a ladting legacy.

As far as hobbies or personal interests go, I read on my spare time. I am also a part of a salsa band. I joined due to my passion for music but I also needed to make extra money. I try my best to go to museumes and art gallieres as much as possible but due to having 3 jobs; it's alsmot impossible.
