Benefits of renting include no capital investment and 100% tax-deductible monthly payments. When you rent, you get the desired service, you save on your hauling bills, and the monthly rental price includes freight, delivery, installation, and repair service when necessary.
When you buy, there is either a large expenditure of capital, or if you finance, your payments aren't tax deductible. The finance payments are sometimes more expensive than rental payments. As far as tax deductibility, the machine must be capitalized on your books, depreciated, and deducted from tax obligation according to IRS rules. However, when you buy, your expenditure is limited to a predictable amount - except for maintenance and service down the road, which is still open ended.
