I grew up with a very tight knit family that's very protective. They really did there best to shelter my sister and cousins and me. I don't really think it was right sheltering us as much as they did because it seemed to just have all us just want to go out a explore what's REALLY out there and we've become afraid to tell them that's what our intentions are. For example, when I want to go on a date or go to a party at a club or go on a long drive out with friends for a day... I can NEVER tell them until AFTER I went. There was a time I did talk about going to a party to my dad. He said that I couldn't go. I told him I did when I was in San Jose. He shoots back "Well, if I knew I wouldn't have let you gone." BLEH. Another example, my Junior Year Prom, THE ONLY PROM I WENT TO... My date didn't pick me up... we didn't take pictures at the house pinning the flower and putting on the corsage... there was no after party for me to go to or bowling... he didn't even take me home. My MOM insisted in dropping me off to prom and picking me up RIGHT AFTER. What a WASTE of money that I SAVED up for the WHOLE SCHOOL YEAR. I couldn't even tell them about my first love until it was too late(he passed away after 5 months being with him). When it was too late, my dad got mad that I was even with him to begin with. "That I should have been thinking..." Seriously... after that moment of my dad saying THAT to me in THAT situation... I was never the same person again. I became MORE rebellious than EVER. My cousins and sister are now just starting to become the same. I REALLY believe it's because of all the sheltering they've done.
Anyways, I do LIMIT myself now on how rebellious I get. I'm 21 and I've got my future priorities to think about than partying all the time. I confess... I wasted a LOT of time and money in education in the past. Ironic that my character, in a high school Drama production in 2000, was a college girl who was EXTREMELY boy crazy and just went to sleep all the time instead of going to class... Dorming at the school wasting the parentals' dinero. I seriously think I have some phobia of socializing or being around too many people. I've noticed I REALLY close myself up when I'm put in those situations. I was fine my first year in high school though... Maybe going to an all girls' Catholic High school did something to me... Eh... dunno. Well, anyways I'm doing VERY well studying in the medical field. I finally found what was meant for me. My goal is to a successful nurse. I started from the bottom to the nursing chain and working my way up.
