Other common names for this tree include tulip poplar, yellow poplar and saddleleaf. This is an easily identifiable tree because of the leaves. The tree is capable of attaining a height of up to 200 feet and some real giants can be seen in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest near Robbinsville, NC. A very important source of lumber for the furniture and other wood industries.
