White Fringetree
Chionanthus virginicus
Ash Family
Other common names of this tree include Flowering Ash and Old Man's Beard. This is a very beautiful and showy little tree, especially when it's in full bloom. The flowers of the tree appear in early spring when the leaves are just starting to grow. The Fringtree has been cultivated since 1736, and it's bark has been used in medicinal remedies as a diuretic and fever remedy.
