Flowering Dogwood

Cornus florida
Dogwood Family

Dogwoods are normally smaller trees, under 30 feet in height. They are one of the most ornamental native trees and highly desirable. Flowers are small and greenish-yellow, surrounded by large white or pinkish petal-like bracts. The fruit is a bright red drupe that is eaten by birds, squirrels and other animals.
