WASN'T THAT A PARTY!
A Very Happy New Year Gentlefolk,
We did it People! Another year
has bitten the dust and we've managed to send it on its merry way with a resounding
SHAZAAM! I loved it! 2003 was heralded with great food, great music and lovely
company. Many thanks to all who attended and our deep appreciation goes to those
who made a concerted effort to promote our party and sell tickets, which is
always a boon. Promotion of our events is crucial to the longevity of our club
and it's by word of mouth that we will have parties which will progressively
improve as time goes on, God willing.
To all the wonderful folks who attended our New Year's Eve party for the first
time, I hope you all will attend our next show planned for May...so stay tuned.
For all those who were away enjoying warmer climes-welcome back!
The catering was Oriental fare and rather scrumptious along with the traditional
roasted Turkey. Tiny tasty tarts were served for dessert and at midnight-lo
and behold! A large Chocolate cake-decadence at its zenith, and for those of
us who prefer savouries, there were good old Samosas, and boy, were they mouth
watering!
Our DJ Colin Carney tirelessly kept us grooving to the beat-from the Chicken
dance to the old standby, the Macarena! The waltzes allowed for reminiscing
while gliding over the dance floor. Auld Lang Syne was played shortly after
midnight, but since we were in the throes of bussing each other for the New
Year, no one noticed.
The hall decorations were relatively simple since we didn't have as many volunteers
as we'd anticipated, but overall thanks to all involved we did well.
So, good people, keep your peepers peeled for further updates to the many events
we intend to have and the bigger bashes to come.
Ciao for now
