| Saturday 5/26/01- I had the pleasure of hanging out with my best friend Tanya (at right), my clubbing buddy Sonya (center), and my sweetie Jason (at left in the pic below) at the Detroit Electronic Music Fest. It was awesome! We also got to chill for a bit with Jason Finnigan & Crazy-Wild-Girlie-Girl Cheryl for a bit, who had a producer friend named Kenny get us to wear some promo shirts. Mine said the name of the production company "World Famous". Aaargh, I had enough people ask me what I was famous for all day! We partied at the Ponchatrain for a bit before heading to the festival. Then we went to The Shelter and saw Carl Craig (fave dj!), Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May etc., spin before heading out (it was more like I was dragged out of there! Sonya & I were dancing our butts off!) to the afterhours club Bittersweet. |
| (above) Awww! This puppy's name is Fantasy. Her owner was waiting for his girl to come out of the bathroom when I caught sight of the cutie (the puppy, that is) and I had to hold her! Het brother's name was Killer (or something awful like that) and this dude had the perfect chick magnet with those cute little puppies! |
| Sunday 5/27/01- Jason, Sonya, James, and I got to hang out at DEMF together. We ran into Robin (@ right- stylin in her tech vest)!!!!! We also lost Jason somewhere by the C-Pop Stage for 2 hours. We were looking for him, but still danced the night away. We didn't find him until midnight. Sonya, James, and I spent most of the night by the Detroit River and all of the glowstick people. Mixmaster Mike from the Beastie Boys closed the night out for us at the main stage. Sonya and James headed home and dropped Jason and I off at Niki's in Greektown where we met up with Sean Spencer, Claire, and Rah. Afterwards we stood in the cold rain for about 40 minutes trying to get into the Planet e party, but settled for Richie Hawtin's party around the corner in Cityclub. The $25 cover was worth getting out of the miserably cold rain, but there were too many people, and it was too hot for us to get our groove on. The location was too small for a Plastikman party, and it was really, really dark. (They wouldn't allow glowsticks either!) The worst part- We lost Jason there for about a half hour too! I held onto him pretty tight for the rest of the night! |

We were mostly at the top of the main stage, to the left, where there were trees (cover from the rain!) and just a short walk away from the C Pop stage. So, don't take our spot next year! A special thanks to Jason for taking most of the pics! |

| Monday 5/28/01- Jason and I didn't get to DEMF until 8:30pm. It was probably the yuckiest day, most evident by the marble-size hail that fell upon us and closed the festival down an hour early. Ouch! It caught Jason and I while we were walking around the vendor booths and we had to run to the underground part of the plaza. We ended up meeting Sean Spencer, Claire, and Jason Finnigan at One-Ex (free party!) where Finnigan spun an awesome set. Props to Finnigan for the free cds of his that we jammed all weekend! Jason and I finished the night (morning?!?!) off with our ritualistic stop at the Drive-In where we stayed until 6am and the sunlight chased us home. Thanks to everyone for hanging out! And for those of you (Andrea, Brian, Matt, Stef and Val especially!) that we couldn't meet up with due to horrible cell phone connections, and what not- there's always next year! |

| DEMF was awesome!!! I can't believe I missed it last year! The music was divine and the crowd was unbelievable. I missed the "party" crowd! This weekend made me see the difference between the "glam" crowd at the clubs and the true partyers who are all about the music and the "scene". |
