Day 2: June 30, 2002
It's close to noon when I wake up, but even so I'm the first one up! Kevin's cousin, Colm, is asleep on the sofa, so I make myself a cup of coffee and wait for everyone to get up.  A little while later we're all up and watching the "Football" game on television, and it's close to 2:00 before we get out the door! The first thing I notice are the sheep right across the road! This is too cool! Kathleen, Kevin, Colm, and I go to a restaurant called The Magnet where again, I experience some more new food (slathered with mayonnaise, of course).
How's this for a front-door view? Baa-eautiful, or what?!
This is called Banoffee - and it was so damn good I had to take a picture of it! It's like a custardy-kind of pie, served with a giant blob of fresh whipped cream - no wonder I came back a size bigger!
The four of us at The Magnet - Kathleen is obviously very amused by something!
After lunch, Kathleen and I go for a drive , run a few errands, visit a few people...then we head back home where Kathleen makes me put on an Irish football jersey and parade  in front of the camera with a giant Irish flag and a can of - what else? - Guinness. Then we order Chinese food (I swear I didn't stop eating the whole time I was there - as Kathleen told me several times, "You'll never go hungry at my house."). Irish Chinese food is very different than it is in the US - in Ireland it tastes more like Indian.  Afterwards, the four of us go to a place called Bananas - kind of like a Dave and Busters with a bowling alley - to play pool and drink (of course)!
This is Kathleen's backyard - how amazing is that?! The most amazing thing of all, though, is that this photo was taken at 9:00 at night - it stays light in the summer until 11:00!
Notice the wet pavement - it never really stops raining in Ireland!
Kathleen tries out the dancing machine at Bananas - and I'm very amused!
Another fun day! Tomorrow we're going to Donegal!
