The part of Samantha Evans was played by Deidre's real-life twin sister Andrea Hall. Andrea joined the cast in July of 1977. Andrea at the time was a teacher. She was to be on Days during her summer break but she ended up staying for three years. Once she left Days she did a few bit parts but she eventually went back to teaching. Andrea teaches special education at The Great Neck Middle School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She has won teacher of the year honors over the past few years.
