when I first saw you.
How you looked awkwardly my way,
knowing I was glancing back.
I remember,
how you asked me for a date.
Your eyes shifting from side to side,
face flushed with nervousness.
I remember,
how you proposed.
'My love, you are my sun and moon,
you are and always will be my life.'
I remember,
you on our wedding day.
How your face was full of fulfillment,
how lovingly you looked at me.
I remember,
how you acted when we had our first child.
Full of pride,
while caressing the small child.
I remember,
when our child went to school.
How you dropped him off,
and came home crying softly.
I remember,
when they found the car crash.
How the doctor said you wouldn't live,
through the night.
I remember,
how pained you looked.
How you held my hand tight,
not wanting to let go.
I remember,
when you died.
When you were taken away from me,
and never to be seen again.
So now I sit,
by your grave.
Just wanting to let you know,
that yes, I still do remember.
