Standard Weapons

The Stake

The most basic Slayer-vampire-dustin' weapon. Just stab the fanged foe directly into the heart with a pointed piece of wood and...POOOF! Not only is the stake the most efficient but it can also be made at any moment in any form. Even a pencil, broken chair leg or tree branch would work. Must be made of wood though and pointy too. No point in stabbing a vampire with a tree stump obviously.

The Quarter Staff

Another basic weapon, the quarter staff isn't exactly meant for vampire staking but is mostly handy in the training department as demonstrated by Giles. Its used mainly as a defense weapon, blocking blows and poking your opponent with a long stick. Very Friar-Tuck like the quarter staff is basically a long piece of wood or metal. Even more handy is when it is made of wood and sharp enough, it can be used like a javelin to stake vampires.

The Sword

A big metal pointy thing used to stab and slice. Since it's not metal, this is not usual vampire slaying equipment but can be used for demons, slimy things and even vampire decapitation. If not, it can be used to cause a heck of a lot of pain for vampires. Swords are usually used in big medieval type battles with sword fighting and fencing type combat. Nothing specific on how to use it. Just remember, the pointy end goes in the squishy part of the enemy.

The Dagger

It's Mini-me. Well, mini-sword type thing. Same type stuff as a sword except shorter, lighter and I doubt you could fence with it. Usually a short sword-like weapon, the dagger is like a Swiss army knife and easy to conceal and pocket. Another thing about the dagger is that because its lighter and shorter, its also throw-able. Try chucking it but be careful you don't poke someone's eye out. Unless you intend to.

The Axe

Ahh, the axe. Again, a metal type weapon. Basically its a stick, hand held, with a big sharp blade on the end. Unlike the sword and dagger, where the blade extends down to the handle, the axe just has a big metal blade, often wide, at the end. This is a non-stab-able type weapon. Decapitation, yes. The axe is mainly handled with swinging. No fancy fencing and fighting skills required. The axe is a basic swing and hack weapon.

The Hammer

Very heavy piece of weapon. Just like the axe, this thing is a swinging type weapon. However, instead of a metal blade, the hammer has a big blunt block of metal on the top. Hence the heavy. The hammer is more of a swing and smash to smithereens type weapon, emphasis on the smashing. The essence of this weapon is equal to hitting people with a big piece of metal.

The Crossbow

Hello, flying fatality! A super effective Slayer weapon, it allows both metal and wood arrows to be fired, so for demons: ARGHH! And for vampires: POOOF! The cross bow is complex with string, arrow, triggers and stuff all over. Not much to know except that to use you aim and pull. Next thing you should hear is: FWAP - POOF! The crossbow is obviously a long distance weapon, meaning you and the big bad must be apart from each other at some distance. No point if he's right in front of you. Even if you can't possibly miss. You might as well, take the arrow out and try stabbing him with it than firing the cross bow.
