Thanks to Eileen from THS for this GREAT idea!!
Any combination of colors & prints
look very pretty for these easy
to make lapel pins.
Materials:
7", 4 1/2" & 3" cardboard circle templates
Scraps of fabric
Needle & thread
Glue gun & stix
Buttons, ribbon, lace ect.....
Directions:
The sizes I gave are approximate.
I used a bread & butter plate (7")
a CD (4 1/2") & a clay pot (3")
to make the templates.
Cut circles of fabric.
1 of each size for the stacked lapel pin.
Using needle & thread sew a
gathering stitch around the edge.
Pull the threads tightly to form a circle & tie off.
You can sew the yo-yos together or use the glue gun.
Add lace around the back
of the largest yo-yo only or all three,
it's up to you.
I didn't add lace to the RWB Yo-Yo Pin.
I painted a 1" wood star blue,
when dry I used irridescent glitter paint over the blue.
Glue star to center of white yo-yo.
Add decorations of your choice.
For the heart pin I cut 2 hearts from denim.
Glue together & use 3 of the
medium size yo-yos to decorate.
I then glued a button to the center of each yo-yo.
Glue lace around the back edge of the heart.
Glue or sew on a pin back & you are done!
