Teddy in a Hat
Materials:
Jointed teddy bear
Straw hat with a round crown
1-2" wide gathered lace, ribbon, silk flowers
Glue gun & stix
Directions:
I didn't give sizes for the teddy & hat because these can be made large or small.
Grab a teddy & straw hat, hold the teddy in a sitting position
on top of the hat to get the right proportions.
Cut a hole in the crown of the hat so that the teddy fits in it up to the armpits.
Set teddy aside for now.
Starting at the outside edge of the hat glue a row of lace
around the hat, overlapping a bit at the end.
Where it overlaps will be the BACK of the "dress".
Continue adding rows of lace, overlapping each row
till you get to the cut out part of the hat.
Now glue a piece of lace from teddies waist in front
to her waist in the back on the opposite side.
Repeat for other side.
It should look like overall straps, crossed in the back.
Push teddy into the hole in the hat, adjust legs to a sitting position.
You may need to pull her up just a bit so it sits right.
I cut a piece of lace about 8" long, gathered it in a circle & tied it off.
Cut a few ribbon streamers & glue underneath the lace circle.
Glue a silk flower to the center of the lace circle.
Glue the lace circle to the top of teddies head between the ears.
Add a ribbon bow to the neck area.
You can add a string pearl necklace,
old pierced earrings ect.....& really dress her up!
