LESSON ONE
GOD'S GIFT; THE PSYCHIC SIDE OF MAN |
|
|
In order to teach a Metaphysical class, it is important that you be given an understanding of what living metaphysically means. Meta is the Greek word for God, or the mystical God. Metaphysics is God working through the physical and above and beyond it. There is a way of life that each of us can be living if we choose to. It is called, "the spiritual way of life." Each of us has the ability within us to use our psychic energies at birth. There is, therefore, no ego involved in being a "psychic." It is a God-given gift to all. Usually, those who are not using it can trace this back to early childhood and to an experience wherein we were taught it was wrong to do so due to someone else's fear or lack of knowledge. The use of this energy can be returned to your life with training. The two recommended tools are through meditation and utilizing the vibrations of a church. This can be any church of your choice. We will discuss meditation later in this lesson. First, let us give further meaning to the word "psychic." For each of our five physical senses, we have a sense beyond the physical. Supernormal sight is called clairvoyance, and supernormal hearing is termed clairaudience. For the balance of our senses above the physical we shall use the term clairsentience, although there are other terms that more specifically define them. Also included in clairsentience, is the art of inner knowing. The latter incorporates the psychic polygraph. It is futile to lie to a psychic because of this. When a psychic message or reading is given, were you to ask, "How do you know?" the only answer is, "I just know." The more highly developed the ability is, the more information that can be retrieved through this channel. The development of the psychic "mental abilities" takes nothing more than PRACTICE, PRACTICE AND MORE PRACTICE. It is very much like strengthening a muscle. There are also physical phenomena that can be utilized. To name some of them, there is kinesis, independent voice, voice through the use of trumpet, apports, etc. In this class we will develop the mental mediumship. It will be incumbent on the student to further practice outside the class to strengthen the use of these abilities although we will be working within the group one-on-one. Let us now begin with an in-depth understanding of where this power comes from. To do so, we start at the beginning with the essence of creation as it is stated in the Bible and our relationship with God. "Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over all the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild beasts of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them." (Gen. 1:26 and 27.) You will note that thus far the creation is NOT PHYSICAL. Also in this chapter, man has been given power over all things, including himself. This is a message that not everyone has realized. Nor does everyone act this out in daily living. "And the Lord God formed Adam out of the soil of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being." (Gen. 2:7) In many of the older Bibles, we find God expressed as "The Pure White Light." He is the purest of souls and is neither male nor female. In Gen. 1:27 when He created man, He did so in soul form and in His own image. In Gen. 2:27, He formed man of the soil and man became a physical being. The breath of life referred to is the spirit of life. The spirit is the life force of your body. To many of you this is a new concept and we hope that you will keep an open mind through these lessons as we elaborate. Since we accept God as the sole creator and in soul form, man is His duplicate, we can now understand that man is a co-creator with awesome abilities. Jesus said, "Yea the things that I do, you can do also and even greater things can you do." There is an important message in this. In order to truly appreciate this, you want to be able to take on the responsibility God has placed into your care at the time of your creation in soul form. Also, take into consideration, the wisdom needed to handle this responsibility. Metaphysically, we describe God as ever-present. He always was, He is now and He forever shall be. God has given man the same immortality within man's soul. It is only the physical body which was formed of the soil that is ultimately expendable. In these primary verses, you have been entrusted with an immortal soul, the power of God as a co-creator, the ability to keep this soul pure, the need for keeping the spirit alive within God's temple, your physical body. The ultimate goal of these lessons is to teach you how to do all of these with the help of God, expanding your own individual mental realm and spiritual consciousness. We ask that all through these lessons, you meditate on and pray for guidance to achieve this goal and through a positive mental attitude, you can achieve this. Consider yourself as a ray of light, a part of the Great White Light. This light is given to us as protection and as a reminder of who we are. Surround yourself with this light at any time that you sense danger, and most important, when you are involved with any psychic experience. You have now begun your understanding of your oneness with God. You have taken the first step along the pathway and may use the Metaphysical identification, I AM, I AM one with God. Since God is the ultimate power, the source of all you require, and His supply is inexhaustible, you have an unlimited resource to draw upon. When you are using God's energy, you never get tired. Let us separate the world for a moment into two parts. Let us call our earthly world the three-dimensional world, with the limitations of height, width and depth as we know them. Since this is our physical world, we will also include the terms time and space as we have been taught about them. The second part, we will call God's world, the psychic world, the fourth-dimensional world. Here there are no limitations on energy, time, space, knowledge, wisdom or understanding. Nothing is new to God, it is only new to us. This will explain why clairvoyants never tire when reading and psychic healers are equally inexhaustible when involved in the many forms of healing. They are using God's energy and are only the transmitters. They are NOT using their own energy. The three-dimensional world is our scientific world. We relate to the things we can see or touch and approach them with logic and reason. Learn to approach the fourth dimension without these limitations and you will progress more rapidly as a psychic. You will ultimately find the logic and reason. You are only changing the method by temporarily putting them on a shelf. Let us list the many facets of God, the things we know about Him.
He is: 1. Father and Mother, male and female. 2. The cause and the essence. 3. Has been, is now, and forever shall be. 4. Forgiving, loving, compassionate and all good. 5. The grantor of our requests, the hearer of our prayers. 6. The source of all energy; life. 7. The law of the Universe. 8. Impartial; without prejudice. 9. Fundamental thought; truth. 10. A part of us as we are a part of Him.
Definitions:
1. Our inner room - our inner selves. 2. The top of the mountain - the ultimate of your mental realm. 3. The false prophets - the givers of incorrect information. 4. Heaven and Hell - the world you create around you.
When you meditate, go into your inner room, take God to the top of the mountain, rid yourself of the negative programming given you by false prophets and create around you a positive place, Heaven.
Affirmations:
1. I AM one with God. 2. I AM one with the Father from Within. 3. I AM that I AM.
Meditation:
For those of you who are new to meditation, we will briefly explain a training exercise with which you can get started. Choose a scene that creates a feeling of peace within you. It can be a forest clearing or one of an ocean or lake. Should you choose a water scene, picture yourself aboard a yacht on a bright sunny day. Feel the gentle motion of the waves lulling you into a sense of peace. When you become accomplished at bringing in this scene, add a bird to it. Then listen to the bird chirping. Add to your image, anything that gives you a point of concentration and a feeling of peace and being centered. Imagery is an important part of the psychic world. When we become adept at putting images in our minds, we later receive images that we have not put there ourselves. Practice morning and night in a quiet place where the phone, your pet or other people will not jar you back. ALWAYS surround yourself with a clear white light before you begin.
