Hi, I'm Matt. Some of you may know me as |XTORT| or any variation of the words "dead parrot". I suppose it's time to admit this is website. It's not much but I guess it's a pretty cool site for people who know me.

If you really care to know about me and who I am then this is the section for you. I'm a 28 year old guy from Kings Mountain, North Carolina (a tiny town whose only saving grace is that it's a half hour's drive from Charlotte). I used to work at a place called Burlington Industries, but I received my 60 day notice of termination on January 23, 2002. Things aren't as bad as they seem since the closing of the plant means the federal government will pay me a regular weekly paycheck to go to college full-time to get a degree (gotta love NAFTA laws). I've completed one year, am and working to get back for the next. I've done a couple stints in Honda dealerships here and there in all kinds of positions from sales to management, but have found my way back to textiles as a machine technician for Parkdale America in Belmont.
Anywho, I'm a computer geek (yay I can admit it) and a video game nut *hugs his XBOX* (Update) *hugs his XBOX 360* . I listen mainly to industrial rock and techno/electronica/whatever you call it, but I also like some classic rock such as Pink Floyd and other bits of musical genres here and there. My favorite bands are Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Ministry, Primus and DJ Keoki.(Update) Add to that BT, DJ Tiesto, Thievery Corporation, Death in Vegas and many more.
I know all you ladies out there are just swooning over me, but I must decline since I'm taken. (Update)... yet again. I'm no longer with the girl from Utah, and have found a stable, fun and truly compatible girl from right here in my own neck of the woods. We're engaged to be married in May 2008!And in case you ever are in North or South Carolina and happen to see a green 2000 Acura Integra with the license plate "DEDPAROT" I'll take the time to answer this question, "What the heck does Dead Parrot have to do with anything you freak?" The answer comes by way of my favorite comedy troupe, Monty Python. If you haven't heard or seen them, go out right now and buy or rent something by them, and if you have heard of or seen them, then you know they're hilarious. Dead Parrot or dedparot as I am called is in reference to the "Pet Shop" sketch by Monty Python. So there ya go. Wasn't that simple?
I also go by the nickname "XTORT," which is the name of an album by KMFDM. It is my personal favorite album by them, although it's hard to rank favorites with a band that rocks like they do. I went to see them in July of 2002 and December of 2003 with my ex-girlfriend The shows were great.Sascha K. and Raymond Watts and Lucia had a stage presence so great, it was hard to look away.
