Aaron K's Testimony Based on 2 Peter 1:5-9 (speaking notes)
	All you NEED to know is that Jesus Christ was sent from the God who is worthy of nothing less than perfection, died in our place to give us that perfection, rose again from the dead, and will come again in authority over everything whether the world believes what he said or not.  What I have to say here is the rest of the story.
	
	Based on:
	2 Peter 1:5-9 – For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
	
	First off, salvation is great
	Listen to what God has done in other people’s lives whenever you get the chance
	
	God’s work in me is a slow motion display of His power
	
	Received faith very early
	-Blessing, but I need to be reminded of what I was saved from
	
	Goodness followed in my dad’s example
	-Rewarding, but alone is temporary
	
	Knowledge came from a combination of the two
	-AWANA and a bad attitude
	
	Self-Control was my Father working through His knowledge
	-Verses came to mind that I didn’t earn
	
	Perseverance was a result of my reputation and a lot of grace
	-Earthly pressures were used by God but felt hollow
	
	Godliness was where my heart went when perseverance got tough
	-Finally starting to get it, feels like hunger
	-Put your life in a place where you can depend only on Him
	
	Brotherly kindness was the reward and obligation of godliness
	-Not perfect, but miles better than any other earthly relation
	
	True love is what people see when we have Our Lord
	-People respond
	-Begins the strengthening of the other qualities again
	
	Concluding thoughts
	-Without Christ, none of these joys are possible
	-If you’re hanging out at the bottom layers – look up!  He offers so much more at a small price (family discount).
	-If you hang out at the bottom you are a step away from being ‘blind and forgetting that you were saved from your sins’ like Peter said.  Not only is that ungrateful to our Father who gave up His Son for us, but is a life that regardless of appearance will feel unproductive.
	-My hope is that as many as possible will be able to live in the blessings of our Father especially the love of His Son, Jesus.
