Walk in Truth

Time and time again
We get sent to an early grave
Or locked down for life in prison
Trying to survive, so we say
Living day by day
In the end
We hurt ourselves, family and friends
Reality, since day one
Been fed the crumbs
Always denying the power of God
We put our trust in the lies and guns
Sons of a spiritual struggle
Birthed in blood, bathed in tears
Smoke rising from the ashes
We crawl out of the rubble
Life in the ghetto
Lives destroyed by the devil
Fires kept ablaze
Because we do not walk by faith
Rebellious children of God
Filled with so much hate
Non-believers say its too late
Prove them wrong
Never apply the lies
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life!

Delivered

Face to face with myself
Looking in the mirror
The picture is not so clear
Defining who I have become is difficult
Gangster
Tattoo tear drops
For the pain that never stops
Who is the man I see
Staring lifeless back at me
Where will I spend eternity
Jesus please comfort me
Deep inside Im wounded
I hurt others, because of my pain
Numb, I seldom smile
Defile everything I touch
Should have been dead a long time ago
For some special reason
God allowed me to live
Do I continue to gang bang
Or live as a Christian
In my mind, Im wrestling
Finally God touches me
Real tears now fall down my face
Only by Gods grace.

A New Day

Birthed into the madness
Felt no love just sadness
Full fledged wars
Being fought in my mind
Searching, but I can not find
The answers to all my questions
My future seems so bleak
Raised by the wicked streets
God, I dont understand
Living by no rules
Headed to the grave or a torture chamber
A place that only breeds hate and anger
Some call it a prison cell
I call it hell
The enemy is restless
But, stronger is He who is in us
Than he who is in the world
Gods strength is sufficient
In an instant
Old things have passed away
Behold all things have become new
It is up to you
To confess with your mouth
And believe in your heart
That Jesus can and will
Give you a new start.

Lord Come

Since I was a BG baby gangsta
The evils of the world
Force fed me
Now look at me
Convicted of crimes against humanity
Long ago accepted responsibility
Pays all the guilty pleas
Society now what
Do you have the courage to stand up
All must recognize our errors
Place our hope in the Savior
Lets come together
To make this world better
Children deserve a chance
Not a romance with guns, gangs or drugs
Pay attention
We are growing up
In homes with no love
One after another we self-destruct
So many want to change
God we need you
There is too much despair
In my hood violence is everywhere
No one seems to care
Love has become so rare.
