FIVE REASONS NOT TO JOIN A GANG
Gangs of all types have grown to epidemic proportions. Many young men and women of all economical, ethnic, and social backgrounds have been initiated into gangs worldwide. Most without fully understanding the sever and deadly consequences associated with gang activity. From personal experience I tell the reader of this article, with all sincerity and no conviction, �Never join a gang!� Also, if you�re an active gang member, �Denounce your membership, before it�s too late!�
1. YOU CAN GET KILLED!
The gang lifestyle is deadly! It�s not a fad or fashion show. You immediately make enemies when you join a gang. The power struggle that exists between gangs eventually leads to murder. Don�t be the next victim!
2. YOU CAN GO TO PRISON FOR LIFE!
The gang life consists of criminal activity. That makes you a target of law enforcement officials. Eventually, you will end up in prison, a place where gang activity flourishes. Your enemies surround you behind prison walls. There is no peace or rest for gang members in prison. Remember, no one is guaranteed to leave prison alive, so stay free!
3. YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS CAN BE HURT OR KILLED!
Retaliation and revenge are directly associated with gang activity. Rival gang members will hurt; even kill your family members if they can not get to you. When you join a gang you are jeopardizing the lives of your family. Protect your loved ones, do not place them in harms way!
4. INNOCENT PEOPLE GET KILLED!
Stray bullets during drive by shootings have to hit something. Most commonly, they hit and kill your children. Save lives, do not take them. We only have one life to live.
5. YOU DESTROY YOUR COMMUNITIES!
Gang activity only adds to the negative cycle which destroys our communities. Build your communities. Do not destroy them. Children must have a safe haven to grow. Families must be able to live in a peaceful environment, to enjoy their lives. No one has the right to bring death and destruction into the communities. That�s exactly what gangs do!
