Cheviots(2)
So here's another picture of my sheep. Cheviots are known to be EXTREMELY wary of people, (i.e. they run away), but this mother is sticking around her lamb as I get in closer for a picture. Many people have the misconception that all sheep will "ram" them, but that isn't true. Sheep can be taught to be mean by repeatedly patting them on their heads, so if you ever go to a country fair- DON"T PAT OR RUB THE HEADS! "Mean" sheep often end up in the freezer or as pelts.

As an aside, "ewes" are female sheep. "Rams" are male sheep. "Lambs" are sheep less than one year old. Horns on a sheep don't necessarily mean the animal is a ram. Some breeds have both ewes and rams with horns. Also- sheep are ~generally~ divided into two categories: wool breeds and meat breeds depending on the quality of their fleece and their musculature. That's probably self-explanatory.
