| Side-by-side comparison of the original TRX rims (left) I bought the car with and the new, 15 inch rims (right) I picked up a year ago. When I had sport springs installed a couple of years ago, the shop was worried that the TRX rims and tires (which I was running at the time) would rub against the fenders, but everything turned out okay. When I got the new wheels and tires, I measured the difference and came up with 2 1/2 inches smaller in dimaeter. While this increases my "take off" time, my top speed is harder to attain. As I understand it, the 390mm TRX tire was the "supertire" of its age. Apparently, everyone thought that the TRX was THE ultimate way to go. As time went by, the rim size and tire fell to the wayside. That seems to be why the TRX tires are so GODDAMN EXPENSIVE! |
