| Keep a drawer empty | |||||
| A gas expands to take up whatever space it is given. When it comes to collecting stuff, we humans tend to operate the same exact way. Our idea of getting organized usually involves finding new places to put our stuff. We add to our locations to keep stuff, and therefore keep gathering stuff. To force yourself to make choices, limit the number of places available for storage. The next and most critical step, keep one of those limited locations empty. Why? It gives you power over your possessions rather than the other way around. So keep a drawer empty. You'll be surprised at the power you'll possess. |
