If it ain't broke, don't
buy a new one
Effective marketing gets us to
purchase things we do not need.
At the same time, we want to
purchase the products offered as if they were necessity.
And that is why we are referred to
as consumers.
The American economy is driven by
perpetual comsumption.
That perpetual consumption gets
most of us in debt from which we can barely escape.
Newer, better, faster, products
come on the market every season.
From which our perfectly good,
older model is now considered inferior or obsolete.
So like Pavlovian dogs, we go out
and buy the new model.
STOP
If the unit you currently own is
serving it's intended purpose, don't spend the money on a new
one.
