I wanted a white star for a long time. It was very tricky to paint it on the hood with out over spraying and ruining the paint. I made a "test star" on an old piece of metal using a stencil I cut out and some masking tape.
July 25, 2002- I painted the white star on the hood last night. As I am looking at it today I feel as if I did a pretty good job. I learned quite a bit about painting the star by trying to paint one on an old sheet of scrap metal.
July 31, 2002- I have successfully installed the passenger side tie rod and all the tie rod ends. I realigned the tires the best I could by measuring between the tire treads with a tape measure. I painted the new gas tank. The factory paint job was very poor. The paint had runs and was un-presentable. (The box said it was made in Brazil.) I called JC Whitney and complained. I also told them that their picture of the fuel pump is upside down.
