Here I am taking Grandpa Coleman and Uncle Devon for a Jeep Ride
I am showing my Jeep at a car show in Rockwood, PA.
I decided to replace the leaf springs. Every so often when driving down the road I would hit a pot hole just right and the Jeep would bounce back and forth uncontrollably. Once the Jeep was stopped from moving forward the bouncing stopped as well. I thought the leaf springs were worn out and that this caused the problem.
July 23, 2002- In the past week, I have replaced all four springs. This seems to have raised the Jeep about an inch and a half. However, this didn't stop the shaking of the tires after a big bump. I ordered tie rod ends and the passenger side tie rod. The gas tank is in poor shape. The gas tank has leaked around the fill-nozzle ever since I bought it. When the fuel float started malfunctioning (probably because it was 50 years old) I replaced it with a new one. Since I had the gas tank out of the Jeep, I decided to file the fill nozzle flat so that it wouldn't leak. I didn't want to work with a tank full of explosive gasoline vapors so I decided to fill the tank with water.
NEVER FILL A METAL GAS TANK WITH WATER.
The tank has now rusted so bad that I had to order a new one. Also, I finished placing the cd player in a new box. I call it the Tupperware design. This uses the same size container as the speakers. I have plans to paint a star on the hood next.
