July 13, 1999- I worked on the body for the past couple weeks. I’ve sandblasted, brazed, re-sandblasted, and primed, the following parts: the grille, the right and left fenders, and the tailgate. Today, I stood the body on end and cut out some of the rust. Soon, I will begin sandblasting it.

July 14, 1999- I purchased more paint and cut the rot and decay out of the jeep floor. I sandblasted and painted the inner part of the toolbox because once I weld the floor in the toolbox innards won’t be accessible.

July 18, 1999-Today was a big day. I drove all the way to Morgantown, PA to visit Daryl Bensinger, the jeep man. I bought a front dash plate and inner frame for my Ford GPW windshield. I also picked up an M38 seat and both arms and knobs for my windshield. I spent $366, but it would have been necessary to make all those parts from scratch. The windshield hinge came with the purchase, but I probably won’t need it. I will continue to work on the floor tomorrow.
July 20, 1999- I went to town today for supplies. I purchased propane, Oxygen, and more brazing rods. These are 3/32” ones. I was using 1/8” ones before, but the store didn't have any more of those. (The pins were taken out of my foot today, and I’m in a walking cast. I can’t walk yet. I still have to use both crutches.)
