Here is a picture of a Stepstool I made for Susan this past Christmas. You may have seen one similar at LOWES. I went in one day in November and measured and sketched the design and built one just for her. Added more beam support and a more natural finish to my design.
Both the shelf and the bar opening I created/refinished to make them what they are today. The shelf is made from Poplar lumber. Several layers of paint had to be sanded off the bartop to bring out the woods natural finish.
