Here we are working on a page of Jesse
growing up. Images are first low res bw followed by color. Images with

Of his first haircut, Jesse says "I remember
being a little bit scared". Grandpa Jim took him for the trim at a barber
shop about a mile from his home, then took this pic of the new 'do'.
Seen here at the age of 2, Jesse is riding
a hobbyhorse that Grandpa Jim and his wife brought back from her sisters
home while on vacation. Grandpa Jim bought the hat and took this picture
in his den. "I had a great family life."
Jesse says he was a pretty rowdy kid.
He remembers his cousin talking him into eating dirt at about 4. Then in
second grade, he took a dare at school and dumped spaghetti over his own
head. This photo was taken by Jesse's mother in Rome, Ga.
Around 7 Jesse went through the 'superhero'
phase, though he didn't have a 'super' performance in school, and remembers
sleeping in class, paddlings, and notes home from teachers. Mom took this
pic of Jesse.
Jesse was really into Fonzie from 'HappyDays',
and is here seen doing an impression of him. He was also into football,
but quit by junior high when he didn't quite grow as much as the other
boys. (He's 5'8")Jesse's mom took this photo.
