A Friend
It's definately not a person, That I don't know.
It was someone who cared, Perhaps a little too much,
And watched my back, And never gave up.
Our friendship is strong, And it'll never grow weak,
It's just like the sunshine, Peering over the tallest peak.
That person spoke words, Straight from the heart,
And one message was, "We never will part".
And we'll always be together, For as long as we live,
And we must go like that, 'Cause we can never forbid.
Not only did thy speak from the heart,
But thy spoke from the mind, With words that couldn't hurt.
I may seem weird, I may seem strange,
But I have some very bad news today.
I speak these words, From the heart,
Like when thee said, "We never must part".
That special person left today,
Torn from my soul, My heart, my mind.
So now I'm left alone, Without a mind,
Cause I never knew, You'd leave me behind.
Now I'm feeling grief, And sorrow,
But I might find, A new friend tomorrow.
So ignore me now, Leave me as I am,
I'll do my own work, Just like a man.
Although I'm mad, That I'm no longer with thee,
I am happy now, That thee's free.
