Right after that we found out we were pregnant with DD Calista, born 2/23/02. So they are only 7 months apart. But the doctors said my pregnancy with Calista was pretty much a miracle and wouldn't happen again. Well, at my 6 week postpartum checkup I found out I was pregnant again! So this one is due in December, which will make Colby 17 months and Calista 10 months when this baby is born! |

He lived in Atlanta, GA and I lived in Birmingham, AL. My daughter and I moved to Atlanta four months later. After proposing that Christmas Eve, we got married September 5, 1998 and immediately decided to have a child while on our honeymoon. We now live in Tega Cay, SC, which is south of Charlotte, NC, where I'm a stay at home mom and Scott is a Vice President for a transportation company. Birth Experiences My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. After that I was determined to have a baby. My second pregnancy was so easy other than the fact I gained 53 lbs and she was 10 days late. The night I went into labor, we had a record snow fall in Birmingham and we were able to measure 20 inches of snow. What would have normally taken us 20 minutes to get to the hospital took us 2 hours. We finally arrived at the hospital at 2:00 AM. After a few hours of contractions and no dilation, they started a Pitocin drip around 7:00 AM. At 9:30 AM, they administered my epidural. I still was not dilating like I should have been so my doctor told me that if I had not dilated by noon, I was going to be c-sectioned. Apparently, my body took the hint and started being productive. At 4:38 PM on March 15, 1993, Melissa was born weighing 8 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21 � inches long. My third pregnancy was so different than the second. I carried Melissa very high and this one was very low. It was contradictory to every old wives tale concerning sex. Even though the ultrasound tech was 100% sure it was another girl, I still thought it was a boy. I started having Braxton Hicks contractions at 20 weeks and was sent to the hospital for monitoring 5 times. The morning of August 9, 1999, I got up and started getting ready to do some shopping I noticed some bleeding. I called my doctor and they said to go to the hospital. I get there and of course I am not dilated much past 2cm. The doctor said that since I was 3 days past due and I had made so many trips she was going to put me out of my misery. They started the Pitocin at 12:00 PM. They offered to go ahead with the epidural and I declined thinking I would be there for several hours and the pain wasn�t bad at all. At 2:00 PM, I decided to go ahead and have the epidural started. At this point I was only dilated! to 4cm. Between the time they started administering my epidural and finished (30 minutes), I dilated from 4 to 9 cm. The epidural didn�t have time to kick in and it was time to push. After 3 pushes, at 3:27 PM, Megan arrived weighing 8 pounds, 14 ounces and 21 inches long. We are now expecting our 3rd daughter on December 11, 2002. Although she was very unexpected, we couldn�t be happier! |
