I had a small audience from the cafeteria and my mom said "I think it time to go to the room". I thought so too. I was miserable. So I slowly walked up back to the room and took breaks for contractions. One break was in a staircase corner leaning my face agaist the cold chilled walls, it felt so good! I went into the room and then knew that it was time for the shower with my birthing ball to be more comfortable. It was now around 11:30 am I think. Sean's job had come, (of course he had been helping me breath already and is a SUPER birthing partner!) He and I went into the shower and he sprayed me with warm water all over my poor aching stomach. I have no idea how long, this was no joke now. They were coming hard and LONG!!!!I was in peak pain. Then the nurse wanted to check me. My mom suggested that if I hadn't progressed more than what I was when they checked me last I might want to consider an epidural. It was a horrible job to get off that ball and get into the bed. I felt so TIRED and PAINFUL. They had to lift me into the bed, because I couldn't do it myself. The Dr. came in right then and he wanted to check me. I said half asleep, "Could we wait until this contraction is over??" Of course we did and then he checked me and THAT was painful!!! He announced I was at 8 cm and it was so funny because my mom was like SO EXCITED and said "YOU'RE AT 8centimeters!!!!! I just looked at her glossy eyed and half asleep. Then I had the most terrible feeling of wanting to push like crazy! I told the Dr. and he let me push softly. It felt so good to push!!!! 12 minutes later (YES! TWELVE minutes!) I had that burning feeling that was worse than any pain I had felt so far and out came Justan at 1:16pm. He of course cried and I held him close. He was 7#15oz and had dark hair! He nursed immediately and I was so happy! But I was in so much pain with those horrible after pains. The nurse was going to give me Tylenol with Codeine but I asked if she had anything stronger!!! She didn't really and I took the codeine. About an hour later I would say, I took a shower with the help of my mom while Justan was having his check up in the nursery. I then stayed about another day and a half and then went home. I think giving birth is one of the GREATEST experiences a woman can EVER have and I can't wait to do it as many more times as God would allow us to have. Children are truly a blessing!!!!!!

Welcome to the World Justan Ryan!
I woke up on the 16th of March, my due date, and little Justan had no ideas of coming soon-at least not in my timing. I woke up in our new apartment on a Friday after moving from Kent-such a relief from the city, and was TOTALLY READY for baby to appear ANY TIME! I was in a rotten mood and SOO BADLY wanted to to be in labor! So lying in bed I was crabby when Sean came to kiss me goodbye. Of course it was his fault that the baby was late.(well, not actually late, late, but according to my history (Nathan was 1 week early,) I was late in my head. Anyway, I managed to make it through the day and the weekend came. Saturday we went to Olive Garden and I purposely had spicy soup to try to induce labor. I never eat really spicy food that I can avoid. I was desperate! I think we  we did some walking and nothing. The next day my parents invited us to a Mexican Restaurant and again, I ate lots of spicy food!!! As I left I told mom that she can't plan on having us come on vacation with them in a month and a half because they have no hospitals there. (hah, hah, I was still in a grand mood).  That afternoon around 4pm I was SOOO tired I took a nap for about two hours. I woke up at six, had some dinner and when Nathan went to bed, I made a huge microwave bag of popcorn and ate it all my self with some hot chocolate it front of "who wants to be a millionaire". At ten I went to bed ready to face another uneventful day. (Monday) Well, I woke up at 2 am and felt these funny pains. I thought not too much of them because they weren't what I had with my first when I went into labor. At 4:30 I again woke up and the pains were worse. I started timing them and they were coming every five to six minutes. Hmmm, I wondered...So I continued timing them and a little later I went ahead and told Sean that I think I was in labor. At six am I got dressed and ready. I called my mom and told her that these pains were way to strong to be false labor. (I had gone in two weeks earlier to the hospital with false labor.) So we grabbed the hospital bags, and Nathan and I went over to my Mom's and I sent Sean to work since it was probably going to be a while. I timed contractions watching Little House on the Prairie at my moms and had some cheerios. Well, I assumed I would go to the clinic when it opened and have the Dr. check me out, but my mom saw my contraction record (every two to three minutes) and said "these are really close, you should go to the hospital!"  So I called Sean and told him to come home (he hadn't even arrived at work, I had to leave a message!) called a babysitter and she came over and so mom and I went to Labor and Delivery at our Community Hospital at about 8am. The nurse checked me and said I was about 1.5 dilated and I think I might have been about 75% effaced. They monitored me and about 8am my Dr. was making his rounds at the hospital and came to check me. He broke my water and then I walked and walked and walked!! ALL OVER THE HOSPITAL!In the Emergency room, down the halls etc! Sean then came and I asked if he could get the birthing ball. (SO COMFORTABLE!) Well, the hospital had one so I had that one ready for later when I was going to get in the shower. More Walking. The contractions were starting to get very uncomfortable at this time and I hardly could walk. But I did anyway. I remember walking to the cafeteria downstairs and when a contraction hit, all I saw, leaning against a food donation barrel was Top Ramen packages in it.
