On the fifth I was just taking things easy no real sign of contractions (that were consistant andyway)...I got into the shower and was debating wether I wanted to actually take a bath. I decided not to, when I got out of the shower, at 11:30, I was just about ready to get dressed when all of the sudden this gush of water just came, I had no control. Dh was just finishing up a program that was due at school that day, and getting ready to leave. I hollard from the bathroom and told him we needed to go to the hospital. We didn't actually get left for a half hour (he had to send his program via e-mail to his professor and tie up a few loose ends for school. On the way to the hospital the contractions were still not very consistant. we got there checked in and the Dr. came overhe told me thaey would watch me for a couple hours and if things didn't pick up then we would have to use pitocin. After he left my contractions started to pick up. Things looked good. the contractions were hard, but dh helped me through every one of them. Labor lasted about 4 hours, I pushed through 6 or 7 contractions. I did get an episiotomy, she wasn't coming out fast enough and her heart rate was begining to drop. They placed her up on my tummy as soon as she came out. It was great to see her finally. I was 4:40. Her apgar scores were 8 and 9. She was 7 lb 5 oz and 20 inches. Recovery was quick I was up and walking around after about 4 hours. only nussances are the stiches but atleast they're not all that painful. |
