Event log: First off, I would like to thank Dave's mom for allowing us to use her home as a bike shop. Not many people would put up with the disaster of a mess we made. Oh, and she's a really good cook too :o) I went to the bike shop today... ok, make that three times today. I decided that I needed a new set of wheels. While I was there I also bought new carbon handlebars. When we got back home after the first trip to the bike shop, I noticed that my valve stems were too short to fit the new rims. On the second trip to the bike store, I decided that I also needed a new set of carbon cranks... got home and realized that the left crank arm was shorter than the right. Back to the bike shop made it just before closing time... all fixed up and headed home to put all the new stuff on my bike. whew... I should mention that the bike store was a long 40 minute drive from the house by car... Dave's son Steve and nephew Chase showed up this afternoon. We all went out for a steak dinner which I paid for as a "thank you" for putting up with me for the day! Doug
You've heard of keeping up with the " Jones' ". Doug is trying to keep up with me. By the way, his wheels, bars and cranks are cool. NOW he will really beat me downhill with his new wheels. Mark |
