Alamogordo to Phoenix and back
1000 Miles in 15 Days!
22 Aug 04 - 5 Sept 04
Day 6
91 Miles
Event log:  Today was actually much shorter than planned.  We only did 54 miles today as we started from Heber instead of Show Low.  It was a great day all around.  Weather was clear and sunny and I wasn't as sore today.  We climbed out of Heber for about 15 miles and then had a really fast down hill for 6 miles.  My computer registered 48.6 mph today?.  Discovered that it is better to pack most of the weight to the rear of the trailer or it gets a little squirly.  We havn't been keeping up with our mishaps...  a couple of days ago Dave's seat bolt loosened up on him, and almost fell off (the bolt that is).  I broke a spoke yesterday, and had to do a field wheel truing..  We all have had at least one flat each.  I don't think Mark's tires are going to last much longer.  We have enough equipment to get him to Phoenix, but I think he is going to have to buy new ones before we head back.  Oh, I did have an interesting incedent... You know those "Drunk Bumps" on the side of the road?  I hit a short stretch yesterday at about 30 mph and had the little blinky light that was attached to the fender of my trailer break off and bounce over my head... guess I will be buying a new one when he find a bike shop.
