1000 Miles in 15 Days!
22 Aug 04 - 5 Sept 04
Day 10
91 Miles
Event log:  Today turned out to be a pretty good day.  The climb up the rim was tough but doable, it was 6 miles at a 6% grade that took me only 1.5 hours to climb.  I think I am getting much stronger now that I have climbed all these hills.  I have also noticed that my heart rate is much lower now than before.  This ride is definatly helping with my fitness.  Total miles today was only 55.7... it was shorter today, than day 6, since we didn't have to ride all over the city looking for a bike shop.  Mark was a little skimpy on the pictures today!  It is interesting to see all the stuff on the shoulder and near the road though.  Yesterday we saw hundreds of big yellow catepillers trying to cross the road.  Today there were hundreds of little black and yellow butterflys.  I don't think they were related, as they were about 80 miles and 5000 ft. in elevation apart.  BTW, those catepillers are really hard to dodge at 30 mph!
