Tigger Beat - Question and Answer
0: Has fame changed the Backstreet
Boys? I heard they don't like to meet their fans anymore.
A: Where did you hear that? The Backstreet Boys may have changed
but only for the better. They are very cool on meeting their fans
when the opportunity arises. Due to their huge success the last
year. The Backstreet Boys had to grow up real fast and deal with
the responsibilities of being in a hit band.
0: How did the Backstrect Boys
form?
A: The Backstreet Boys came together a little over four years ago
when Oriando Florida natives Howie, A.J. and Nick were introduced
to cousins Kevin and Brian, who come from Kentucky. It didn't
take long before the boys realized that they had something
special in the harmonizing department. Together they united and
went
after a dream and today are pretty big pop stars!
0: How are the Backstreet Boys
handling their overseas fame and success?
A: The boys couldn't be more happy and surprised about their
popularity overseas. Though they seored a U.S.A. hit a while back
with We Got it Goin' On, it was in Europe, Asia and Canada that
they became a household
word. "Our success in Europe is very important to us,"
says Kevin, 24. "I got pretty crazy after awhile and the
crowds kept getting bigger everywhere we went." "We
pretty much get mobbed everywhere we go outside of America. So
far, America has been like a safe haven for us a place where we
can keep our feet on the ground." Perhaps so but not for
long. Now that The Backstreet Boys have received American radio
airplay, and are making concert appearances, they may just find
themselves in a similar Hanson-like circumstance. Let's hope so!
0: Of all the Backstrect Boys I
like Nick the best. What's he really like?
A: The blond and angelic looking. Nick is really quite a shy guy.
Don't expect him to be the life of the party. "i love all
the attention I get," he says. "After all, I know I
could never be the wild one, now can I? Though Nick may be shy,
he's sure full of energy and often doesn't know how to focus his
various attentions. That's why he's the prankster of the band.
0: Is it true that Brian never
wanted to be famous, that it was Kevin who got him into playing
music?
A: Brian not wanting to be famous? We don't think so. When Brian
was younger,he had drearns of being a professional basketball
player. But that all changed once he discovered music. lucky for
us!
