"Smokey" My Service Dog
This Site and the foundation are named after my service dog Smokey. This is my way of paying her back for giving me back my life and independence.
The bond I share with Smokey is like no other bond I have felt before or will even feel again.
SMOKEY'S ASSISTANCE DOGS FOUNDATION
A SERVICE DOG TRAINING SCHOOL.
SO THAT WE CAN HELP OTHERS REGAIN THE LOSS OF FREEDOM OR INDEPENDENCE.
I got Smokey as a seven-week-old pup. I got her knowing that she would become a Service Dog. So, we started obedience classes and started our hunt for a
trainer to help teach her all the things she needed to be a Service Dog. Smokey went everywhere with me and her and I had bonded so strongly that the joke was
that she was and is welded to me. Smokey came into my life at my lowest point. I had been told to get used to things because they would only get worse from here
on in. By the time Smokey was four months old she passed her CGC (Canine Good Citizen). Smokey went though her Temperament test at eighteen months. I was so
proud the only mixed breed and she passed. I have learned a lot about Service Dogs and their training.
I am starting my own Service Dogs School so no one will have to go through what I had to, to get their rights and public access rights. If one person benefits
from my story and life is made easier than all was not lost.
