Debbie Lees the founder of Smokey's Assistance Dogs Foundation a Service Dog Training School
for which she named after her own Service Dog Smokey. Smokey who has given her back her freedom and
independence.
As of May 14,2001 due to conflict we had to change the foundation's name from Smokey's Helping Paws Foundation
to Smokey's Assistance Dogs Foundation. The foundation is a Non Profit Society located in
Edmonton, Alberta, training dogs for Seizure Response, Mobility, Autism, and Hearing Ear Dogs. The
Foundation is lucky enough now to have dogs, which all have shown the ability to
alert prior to a seizure.
Smokey's Assistance Dogs Foundation is seeking charity status. If you like to reach our board

Smokey's Assistance Dog Foundation is not funded by any level of Government, it is my husbands pay
check
which covers all our expenses. It has been hard to go after funding when we do not have any legal rights.
Right now under Canadian Law, most province only protect those who use Seeing
Eye dogs. When we are out in public with them and we are asked to leave a public place, we have no
recourse but to leave.
Up dating our site and looking back over the pass year of training and our growing puppies, I have to say
that I am truly blessed I get to spend my days with my dogs. How many people can say that they love what
they are doing more than any thing else.
Our Service Dog�s will/are not only change the lives of person/child the but also their families and
friends. We are so truly blessed that our clients have not only shared their wonderful children and their
lives with us. The biggest reward is to see the child's faces light up when they meet their dogs for the
first time, or to hear what New worlds have opened up for them.
Through our commitment, experience, and expertise Smokey's Assistance Dogs Foundation has established not
only a business relationship with our customers but a friendship that will last a lifetime!
