Climbing and Caving
Caitlin's husband Jonathan has been teaching her how to rock-climb, and Rifle Mountain Park was a great place to practice.
Below left: Jonathan gears up for his first ascent.
Below middle: Jonathan has reached the top of the route and is setting up the rope for Caitlin's climb.
Above: Caitlin shares a smile during a break in her climbing adventure.

Below: She's working her way to the top!
Jorin and his wife Meghan came down to join our camp-out on Saturday afternoon. They arrived just in time for Jorin, pictured at right, to try his technique at rock climbing also.
On Sunday morning, we headed to Rifle Falls State Park to enjoy a hike around the waterfalls, and to explore some caves.  Below, from left to right: Caitlin, Meghan, Jonathan and Jorin. This was actually taken down in a very dark cave, I was surprised to see how well the camera's flash did.
Above: Jorin gets down and dirty exploring a cave's low opening.
Below: the kids even talked me into going into a cave too!
Left:  Jonathan demonstrates for us what would happen if he got stuck! At least Jorin was right behind him to give him a push.

Right: Caitlin loved exploring the caves. I was so glad she and Jonathan could come from Lakewood to camp with us for the weekend.
