Obituary, Blair Enterprise, 13 Jul 1961: Mrs. Mary PARKER, 85, died Tuesday. Mrs. Mary PARKER, 85, a one-time Kennard resident and a sister of Mrs. Emma SUTTON of Blair, died Tuesday at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. She had been visiting here a short time prior to her death. Mrs. PARKER's home was in Denver. Mrs. PARKER was born in Washington county in 1876 near Kennard. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Kirby PARKER. For a time the couple made the Kennard vicinity their home. Mr. PARKER died about two years ago. After leaving Kennard, about 50 years ago, the couple moved to Denver. She became ill and was taken to Memorial Community Hospital here Monday and transferred to Immanuel Hospital in Omaha Tuesday. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Irene JENKINS of St. Louis, Mo. and by two sisters, Mrs. SUTTON of Blair and Anna SUTTON, of Denver, and by two grandchildren. She is an aunt of John and Chester SUTTON of Blair and Mrs. Elsie LUNDT of Omaha. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Kramer Mortuary in Benson and burial will be made in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Omaha.

Obituary, Blair Paper, 15 July 1965. Anna SUTTON Dies in Denver. Mrs. Anna SUTTON passed away Saturday morning, July 10th, at a Denver hospital. She had been in failing health for several months. She was born in November, 1879 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian and Elsie JENSEN in Blair. For the past 50 years she and her only daughter, Mrs. Hazel MARSH, have lived in Denver. Her husband, Walter S. "Shep" SUTTON died many years ago. Besides her daughter, she is survived by two nephews, John SUTTON of Reeds Psrings, Missouri and Chester Neil SUTTON of Blair; and a niece, Mrs. Theodore (Elsie) LUNDT, Omaha. Also several great nieces and nephews. Memorial services wer eheld in Denver before services held at the St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair on Tuesday, July 13th, at 2 p.m. Father Wm. SHATTUCK officiated. The Campbell Mortuary was in charge and burial was in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were: H. Lyle GUYER, Fred GUYER, Clark LIPPINCOTT, Donald LIPPINCOTT, B.F. LUNDT and Andrew NIELSEN.

Obituary. Blair Pilot-Tribune, 8 Mar 1945. C.R. SUTTON Dies at Hospital. 74-YEAR-OLD RETIRED FARMER HAD LIVED HERE 55 YEARS. C.R. SUTTON, 74, who had been confined to Blair hospital for a week and was in failing health since Sept., died at Blair hospital, at 1 p.m., Wednesday. Well-known as one of the county's most progressive farmers, Mr. SUTTON had lived in the vicinity of Blair for approximately 55 years. He and Mrs. SUTTON had retired from active farm work just a month ago, moving to 511 west Washington street, Blair, on Feb. 10. Mr. SUTTON was born at Abbington, Washington county, VA., on June 9, 1870. He came to Washington county, Nebraska, at the age of 19 years, and on Feb. 22, 1898, he and Mrs. SUTTON were married at Fremont. Besides the widow, three children survive. They are Neil of Tucson, Ariz.; John SUTTON and Mrs. Theodore H. (Elsie) LUNDT of Blair. Also left to mourn Mr. SUTTON are two brothers, Charles and Robert SUTTON of Hennessy, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Robert STALCUP, and a niece, Mrs. Jesse COULTER of Blair; and five grandchildren, Stephen SUTTON, Emma Lou, Mary Sue and Judith Mae LUNDT of Blair, and Chester SUTTON of Tucson. Funeral rites will be held at Bendorf Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Blair Cemetery.
Obituary. Blair Pilot-Tribune, 20 Apr 1964. Mrs. Emma SUTTON Died Saturday, Services Monday. Mrs. Emma SUTTON, 82 years of age, died early Saturday morning at Memorial Community Hospital. Services were held today (Monday) at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Ray SCHAUMBURG officiating with interment in Blair Cemetery. Mrs. SUTTON is survived by two sons, John and Chester Neil, both of Blair; a daughter, Mrs. Theodore LUNDT (Elsie) of Omaha; and a sister, Mrs. Anna SUTTON, of Denver, Colo. Mrs. SUTTON was born March 19, 1882 at Kennard, the daughter of Christian and Elsie JENSEN. Her husband, Chester R. SUTTON, died in 1945. Mrs. SUTTON has been a lifetime resident of Washington County. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors. Pallbearers were Fred GUYER, Andrew NIELSEN, William CHRISTENSEN, George BADGEROW, E. Clark LIPPINCOTT and Bernie LUNDT. Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 27, at First Methodist Church in Blair for Agnes SUTTON, 75, who died April 24, 1981, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. Rev. Gordon PATTERSON conducted the services. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery. Agnes SUTTON was born March 23, 1906 to Jesse Martin and Louise JOHNSON WEST in Herman, Nebraska. She was married to John SUTTON of Blair. He survives. She was a homemaker and a past president of P.E.O. She was a member of First Methodist Church and was also a former school board member. She is survived by her husband; and one son, Steve SUTTON, of Lincoln, Nebraska. Three grandchildren; one sister, June NELSON, Blair; and two brothers, Melvern WEST, Herman, Nebraska, and Ernest WEST, Ottertail, Minnesota, also survive her. Pallbearers were Hugh HUNT, Richard HUNT, David WEST, Ernest M. WEST, Gary WEST, Jack WEST, Neal WEST and Warren WEST. Katy FLYNN was organist. The vocalist was Homer NIELSEN. Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
Source newspaper unknown. Funeral services are pending for District County Judge Chester N. SUTTON who died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his home at 2049 Colfax Street in Blair. Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services. As this newspaper went to press, the tentative time of the funeral was Friday afternoon, February 20th. The exact time and location will be announced on KBWH. Final plans are pending the return of Mrs. SUTTON Wednesday evening. Mrs. SUTTON was in Kansas visiting with her mother at the time Mr. SUTTON died. The Washington County Court will be closed Friday afternoon in honor of Judge SUTTON. All Friday cases have been continued to future dates. Judge SUTTON had attended the Washington County Bar Association supper and meeting Tuesday evening. Judge SUTTON and his son had reportedly talked for a time after he returned home from the meeting. Then the two went to bed. Wednesday morning it was found that Judge SUTTON had died in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Blair; two sons, Chester SUTTON and John SUTTON, both of Omaha; two daughters, Jennifer SUTTON, Blair, and Balinda CHAVEZ of New Mexico; one brother, John SUTTON of Blair; and one sister, Mrs. T.H. LUNDT of Lincoln. Chester N. SUTTON was born in Washington County in 1916. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. SUTTON, were pioneers in Washington County. He attended Dana College and Creighton Law School and was admitted to the Bar in 1941. In 1946, he was elected Washington County Attorney and served one term in that position. He practiced law in the Blair area until he was elected District Court Judge and assumed that position in January of 1973. In 1976, he was re-elected to a six year term in that position. He served in the Armed Forces, worked with the Boy Scouts for several years and was Chairman of the Washington County Democratic Party for several years. He was also a member of the Washington County Bar Association. Judge SUTTON has been active in civic organizations of the community. He was a former District Governor of the Lions Club in Nebraska.

Funeral services were Friday, February 20, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair for District County Judge Chester Neil SUTTON, who died at his home, 2049 Colfax, in Blair, on February 18, 1981, at the age of 64. Rev. Jess HANSEN conducted the services. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery. Chester Neil SUTTON was born June 12, 1916 in Blair to C.R. and Emma JENSEN SUTTON. He was married to Joyce EIFFERT. She survives him. He resided most of his adult life in Blair. he was a graduate of Blair High School, Dana College and Creighton University School of Law. He practiced law in Blair for 28 years and was elected District County Judge in 1972, serving in that capacity until his death. He served four years as a Special Agent in the Counter Intelligence Corps and was a World Ward [sic] veteran, serving from November 14, 1941, to November 17, 1945. He was past District Governor of Lions Club, a member of Hain-Flynn Legion Post #154, a member of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church and a life-long Democrat. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Blair; two sons, Chester SUTTON, Jr., and John SUTTON, both of Omaha; Jennifer SUTTON of Blair; and Mrs. Dennis (Belinda) CHAVEZ of Houston, Texas. One brother, John SUTTON, of Blair; one sister, Elsie LUNDT of Lincoln; one grandchild, Maurice; and a cousin, Mrs. Benton (Hazel) MARSH of Denver, Colorado. Miss Iris FREY was organist. Pallbearers were Lou SEMINARA, Melio A. TONINI, Emmett ROGERT, Daryl MILLER, J.B. LONG and Gale OLESON. Honorary Pallbearers were Harvey McINTOSH, Wendell KLANDERUD, Frank RYBIN, Joe McMANIGAL, John ANDREASEN, Jon STEWART, Frank GABBY, and Jim SCHEFFLER. Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
Obituary. Blair newspaper, 1984. Services held Saturday. John W. SUTTON, the son of Chester R. and Emma JENSEN SUTTON, was buried at the Blair Cemetery Saturday, June 16. He was 81. SUTTON, a stat highway engineer, operated the Blair Redi-Mix for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes WEST. Survivors include sister Mrs. Elsie LUNDT, son Steve SUTTON and grandchildren Tyler, Mark and Suzanne BRAMMIER, all of Lincoln. SUTTON died Thursday, June 7, at the Madonna Care Center in Lincoln. Pallbearers for Saturday's service at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair were Mark SUTTON, John SUTTON, Chester SUTTON, Hugh HUNT, Richard HUNT, and Warren WEST. Father Jess HANSEN delivered the eulogy.

Obituary. Blair Pilot. 1 Mar 1916. Mrs. Joanna JENSEN FROM died at the home of George ELIASSEN, where she was boarding, at noon Sunday, Feb. 27th and the funeral was held at the Adventist church at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Elder W. H. SHERRIG, of Omaha, officiating. Burial was in the Blair cemetery. She was born in Uldom, Denmark, August 10th, 1833 and was therefore 82 years, 6 months and 17 days old at the time of death. She came to this country in 1891 and settled near Orum, where she was married to John FROM a year later. Owing to her condition from asthma she came to this city about ten years ago and Mr. FROM went to make his home with his son, Knute, of Newman Grove where he died about a year ago. Death came to her while sitting in her chair, but it was not unwelcome, owing to her condition, her age and her faith in a future life. She accepted the Adventist faith in 1880 and has lived a devoted Christian life ever since. She leaves one full brother, Soren JENSEN, of this city, one half sister, Mrs. Jorgen JORGENSEN, of Omaha, and two half brothers, Anton JENSEN, of Magnolia, Ia., and George JOHNSON, of Waterloo, Neb.
Obituary. Blair Enterprise. 3 Mar 1916. Mrs. Hannah FROM Dead. Mrs. Hannah FROM departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 27, at noon, aged 83 years. She had been a great sufferer from asthma for a number of years a sudden attack of this trouble caused her death. She had been in her usual health until a few hours preceding dissolution. Deceased had been a resident of Washington county for 46 years, coming here with her husband in 1870 and locating on a farm near where the Orum store is not located. Her husband, John FROM, died a number of years ago and since that time she has boarded with different friends, making her home with Mrs. ELLISEN, in Dexterville, at the time of her death. She has one son, Peter, his whereabouts not known, but when his mother last heard of him, he was in the state of Wyowing [sic]. Beside this son, she leaves a sister, Jurgensen, of Omaha; two brothers, Soren JENSEN of Blair, Anton JENSEN of Modale, Ia., and one half brother, George JOHNSON, of Waterloo, Nebr. Funeral services were held at the Adventist hcurch [sic], Tuesday afternoon, the sermon being preached in both the Danish and the English languages, by Elder W.H. SHARRIG, of Omaha. A large number of friends from Kennard and Oruum [sic] and Blair were present. Interment was made in Blair cemetery. J.P. JENSEN, guardian of Mrs. FROM, has instituted a search for the son by sending advertisements for him to several western newspapers. There is a twenty acre farm at Orum and some other property belonging to her estate.
