Hot Tips from Eartheart™ RE: Tree Injury Deep root tree feeding after an injuryWhen trees & shrubs loose bark or a branch from strong wind, collision or trimming, this is an actual injury that needs internal repair. The tree rushes sap to the injured area to protect itself from insect, mold and sunlight damage. The sap carries additional minerals, vitamins, anti-oxidants, enzymes and electrolytes to that area. The soils around trees and shrubs in most home and commercial landscapes is either low quality fill dirt, high in single nutrients, like magnesium or nitrogen, not properly drained or partially covered by concrete or asphalt. These poor soil conditions limit the trees’ ability to recover from injury. Use EARTHEARTtm 18-16-9 soluble plant food after an injury and as a preventive maintenance. EARTHEARTtm 18-16-9 feeds roots so the tree can have optimum recovery and growth. |
