Sherwood (Sherod) L. Overstreet married May 21, 1805 in Charlotte Co. Va. to Elizabeth Hazelwood, b. ca. 1785.
Sherod L. Overstreet was born ca. 1785 in Virginia. He was the son of Elizabeth Overstreet, daughter of William Overstreet. (Born out of wedlock?).  Elizabeth married John Harris in 1789 in Charlotte Co. VA. (John tried to leave Sherod (Sherwood) land in his will).

Sherod's name was spelled many different ways - Sherwood, Sherod, Sherrod, Shared, Sherard, Sherrard, etc...

October 21, 1823 - Sherod L. Overstreet sold to Peter Hazelwood of Lee Co. Va. "for divers causes and other considerations" one negro woman named Sally and her increase. Witnesses: Samuel Mark, Hezekiah Hall, and George Brittian.

September 23, 1824 to John Jones for $60, 2 town lots #9 and #18.

September 27, 1823 - Sherod L. Overstreet sold for $60.75 one female negro slave named Caroline age 5 1/2 to Luke Noe. Witnesses: John and Delia Noe. Recorded Jan. 21, 1826.

May 19, 1823 - John N. Hord sold to Sherod L. Overstreet for $31.00, 1 acre north of and adjacent to Mount Pleasant.

Patsey (Martha?) Overstreet Holland was in Lee Co. Va. in 1830 with 2 males under 5, and 2 males 5-10 years old. Her husband Richard Holland evidently died or just left the family. Patsey never remarried. In 1860 she was in Madison Co. KY.
