"OLD JOHN" ANGLIN (SON OF "REV" JAMES ANGLIN AND JANSEA BARRETT.)
John Anglin was born 6 Oct. 1813 Clay Co. Ky. He died in 1892 Rockcastle Co. Ky.  His first wife was Clarissa Phillips - they married 25 Jan. 1835 in Clay Co. KY. Children were:

Mahulda b. 1836 mar. John Marcum 1855 In Owsley Co. Ky.

James b. 1838 mar. #1- Mary Francis Langford #2- Oriena Clemetina Cook(James Veteran Civil War-was a Sergeant in Co. G., 4th Regt Ky. Vol. Mounted Infantry).

Catherine Jemina b. 1840 mar. #1- Squire Samuel Cooper #2- Harvey Long.

Mason b. 1843 mar. Rebecca Langford.(Mason Vet. Civil War. Private Co. G, 4th Regt. Ky Volunteer Mounted Infantry.)

Elizabeth b. 1845 mar. Wm Bowles

Nancy Heelan b. 1848 mar. David McCollum.

Margaret b. 1853 mar. John Carroll. Margaret died Oct. 1875 of TB. Their son, John W. Carrol, died March 1875 at the age of 16 months, of "fever and cold".

Thomas Anglin b. 18 Aug. 1882 Rockcastle  Co. Ky.  Married 1903 Estil Co. Ky to Mary Holland (widow of Garrett Gentry). Died 3 Feb. 1967 Payne Co. Ok.

Frankie Jane Anglin born 2 March 1885 Rockcastle Co. Ky. Mar. 1899 to Joe Flannery in Jackson Co. Ky.  Died Jackson Co. Ky.
Barbara Parsons, the daughter of John Parsons and Sarah Pennington, was born 3 Sept. 1859 in Clay Co. Ky. She married John Anglin 15 Oct. 1882 in Jackson Co. KY. She died 23 April 1952 in Berea, Jackson Co., Ky.
After the death of John Anglin in 1892, Barbara married Martin Luther Anglin b. 1856, the son of Isaac Anglin b. 1824 Clay Co. Ky and Martha Simpson.
"Old John" Anglin was a cooper by trade. He made wooden pails, tubs, and barrels. John and Barbara were married at Pleasant Hampton at the John Garrett residence in Jackson Co. Ky. John is buried by his first wife, Clarissa Phillips Anglin, on the Polk Van Winkle farm, near Old State Road, two miles north of Three Links.
