2.  John2 Dipley (John1) was born 1816 in Upper Canada, and died 1889 in Forsyth, Taney County, MO.  He married (1) Amanda N. ??? b. ca. 1814, Abt. 1834 in New York, undocumented.  He married (2) Mary Gladson January 23, 1887 in Forsyth, Taney County, MO.

Believed buried in an unmarked grave in Old Forsyth Cemetary MO, next to Amanda.  There is an old marker for Amanda, no last name, wife of John Dipley.  "From our household your voice we loved is stilled, A place is empty at our hearth which never can be filled."

There is a marriage certificate issued in Taney County for John Dipley and Mary Gladson.  Md. 1/23/1887 by J.M. Hayworth, ECC.  Both John and Mary are from Forsyth and over legal age.  Although John would be 71 years old, no other John fits this marriage.  Amanda died in 1884, the marriage is likely.  Deeds of property to Mary, and subsequently to Edward A. Dipley appear to confirm this marriage.

Notes for Amanda N. ???:
Amanda is buried at the "Old Forsyth Cemetery" in Forsyth, Taney County, MO.  Her stone was barely readable in 1996.  The inscription on the bottom reads, Died January 29 1884,  "From our household your voice is stilled, a place is empty at our hearth which never can be filled."  Irony; John married again January 23, 1887.

Medical Information: Undocumented: had elephantitis and was too big to be carried through the door when she died.  Reportedly took her out through a window.
