| This is the old trail that crosses the top of Black Fork Mountain. In 1895, Angus York Little was very ill and knew he was not far from death. His last wish was to die and be buried on top of the mountain next to his old friend, William Shores. A rocking chair was padded with pillows and Angus was tied into the chair to keep him from falling out. Two poles were attached to the sides of the chair. Angus' sons, Joshua, William, Samuel, and John carried him up this trail to Samuels home on top of the mountain, where he died on July 28, 1895. |
